Deed Search
A Deed Search is the search of the public records of a county, parish, city or town where a specified piece of real property is located, and retrieving a copy of a deed found recorded on that piece of property. Clients will normally specify which deed they are trying to recover, either by name of grantor or grantee (seller or buyer), approximate time of conveyance (transfer/sale) and possibly the type of deed (warranty, quitclaim, special warranty, certificate of title, etc.)
The deed search shows the grantor/grantee, a legal description of the specified property, date of transfer, recording date, etc. and usually includes a copy of the deed (per client request.)
